Delhi Court Slams Police Over Six-Year Delay in Crime Syndicate Case
A Delhi court has strongly criticized the Delhi Police over its failure to arrest an alleged crime syndicate leader for more than six years despite serious criminal cases against him.
A Delhi court has questioned the Delhi Police’s handling of a case involving an alleged crime syndicate leader who remained free for more than six years after police invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against him in 2020. The accused was eventually arrested in February 2026 and was facing multiple criminal cases. Special MCOCA Judge Gaurav Rao criticized the prolonged delay and ordered a detailed inquiry into the investigation and the actions of officers involved in the case. The court also directed that its order be sent to the Delhi Police Commissioner for further action.
