Horror in Jamui: Minors Harassed and Assaulted on Camera; Police Arrest Three Under POCSO Act, SIT Formed

In a deeply disturbing incident that has sparked widespread outrage, a minor girl was brutally harassed and sexually assaulted by a group of miscreants in Jamui. The perpetrators not only subjected the victim to a harrowing ordeal but also recorded the heinous act and circulated the video on social media.

According to reports, the incident took place on September 19. A minor boy and girl were traveling together on a motorcycle when they were intercepted by a group of local miscreants, often referred to as 'road Romeos'. The accused forced the minors off the road and dragged them to an isolated spot.

Despite the minor girl folding her hands and desperately pleading with the attackers to let them go, the men showed no mercy. They continuously misbehaved with her, subjected her to inappropriate touching, and sexually assaulted her while capturing her helpless cries on camera. The video was subsequently uploaded and made viral on various social media platforms by the accused themselves.

As soon as the viral video caught the attention of the authorities, the local police immediately swung into action. Taking strict cognizance of the crime, the police registered a case and launched a manhunt, resulting in the swift arrest of three accused individuals.

The arrested individuals have been booked under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, given the involvement of a minor victim. Furthermore, recognizing the gravity and sensitive nature of the crime, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formally constituted to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the matter, ensure all involved culprits are brought to book, and secure rigorous punishment through a fast-track legal process.
