Court Penalizes 7 for Flouting DJ Ban and Obstructing Police During Ganesh Visarjan in Digapahandi
Seven individuals were heavily fined by a local court for violating noise pollution norms and playing high-decibel DJ systems during a Ganesh Visarjan procession under the Jarada police station limits. The penal action followed a heated altercation where the accused obstructed police vehicles, prompting officials to register a case against 21 people.

DIGAPAHANDI, KALINGA SAMBAD:
In a strict move against the violation of noise pollution norms and public nuisance, a local court has issued challans and levied fines on seven individuals for illegally operating high-decibel DJ systems during a Ganesh idol immersion procession.

The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Jarada police station in the Digapahandi area. According to police reports, a group of revelers was participating in the Ganesh Visarjan procession while playing loud music on a DJ system, blatantly defying the administrative restrictions imposed on excessive noise levels.
When local law enforcement personnel arrived at the scene to enforce the regulations and halt the unauthorized use of the heavy sound equipment, the situation quickly escalated. The revelers reportedly obstructed the path of the police patrolling vehicles, refusing to comply with the official directives. This led to a heated argument and a physical standoff between the procession participants and the police officers on duty.
Taking stringent action against the unruly behavior and the deliberate obstruction of public servants discharging their duties, the Jarada police registered a formal case against 21 individuals involved in the altercation.

Following the registration of the case, seven of the identified individuals were forwarded to the court. Taking serious note of the violations—which included flouting the DJ ban, causing severe noise pollution, and obstructing law enforcement—the court issued challans and penalized the seven accused.
Authorities have reiterated that strict vigilance will continue during the festive season to curb noise pollution and ensure that law and order are maintained during public processions.
