Crackdown on Illegal Sand Mining: Ramachandrapur Police Seizes Dumper and Tractors

ANANDAPUR/KALINGA DARPAN: SATYA DAS

Intensifying its crackdown on the illegal transportation of minor minerals, the Ramachandrapur Police have foiled a major sand smuggling attempt in the region. During an enforcement drive, police officials intercepted and detained three vehicles—one dumper heavily loaded with sand and two tractors—that were found to be transporting the materials illegally without valid permits.

According to an official statement released by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Anandapur, the vehicles were caught red-handed during the unlawful transit. The SDPO confirmed the detentions, assuring the public that the police are taking the matter seriously.

"The vehicles were found engaging in illegal transportation. A formal case will be registered shortly, and stringent lawful action shall be taken against those involved," stated the SDPO, Anandapur.

Local law enforcement has been on high alert recently to curb the unauthorized extraction and smuggling of sand, which has been a growing concern in the area. This latest seizure serves as a strong warning to the sand mafia operating within the Anandapur sub-division. Further investigations are currently underway to identify the broader network behind this illegal operation.
