Court Issues Fresh Summons to Nora Fatehi, Warns Against Absence in Rs 200-Crore Extortion Case Involving Sukesh Chandrasekhar

Legal troubles mounted for Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi as a Delhi court pulled her up and issued a fresh summons in connection with the multi-crore extortion and fraud case involving alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar.  

The actor, listed as a prosecution witness (LW-3) in the third supplementary chargesheet, was scheduled to make a personal appearance before the Rouse Avenue Court. However, when she failed to turn up, her legal counsel moved an exemption plea. The move drew immediate flak from the presiding judge, who expressed severe displeasure over her absence.  

Pulling up her counsel, the court remarked sharply, "Her conduct is not up to the mark. Don't take the court for granted."  

Emphasizing the urgency of the proceedings, the independent judge issued a fresh set of summons, directing Fatehi to appear before the court positively on November 6. The bench issued a strict warning that any further delays or failure to comply with the judicial directive would invite stricter legal consequences.  

The high-profile extortion case centers around allegations that Chandrasekhar, while operating from prison, masterminded a massive Rs 200-crore extortion racket by impersonating senior government officials. Investigators had earlier questioned several film personalities, including Fatehi, regarding financial gifts and events tied to the accused and his associates, making her testimony critical as the trial advances into the prosecution evidence stage.
